• The School Improvement Service "Aspiring to Leadership" Programme runs in partnership with the National College Succession Project and the Bucks Academy for School Leadership.

It aims to support schools in developing a culture of succession planning and building leadership capacity to ensure that succession is smooth and effective.  The programme aims to develop the leadership of all school staff and those who work in other children's services.

Leadership expertise, experience and potential exist at all levels of the profession.  We will support the work of Leadership Aspirations groups in the north and south of the county and provide workshops, training, and the sharing of good practice.  Look here for details of opportunities for your personal development.

  • Middle Leaders in schools are important to the effective development in school improvement.  They work directly with senior leaders in translating the aims development planning of the school to real impacts in the classroom.  They exercise initiative and lead on innovations in teaching and learning, motivating other staff and building well-rounded teams.  This section has information about opportunites for middle leaders available on a national level, a local level and from other schools.
